Nano Launched

Posted by admin. No Comments

Designed with the poor in mind, the cheapest car in the world, the “Tata Nano”, was yesterday launched in Bombay, with a price tag of US$2000.
Nano is even cheaper than china’s domestic miniture cars like the yadifo, jiangnan auto, QQ etc. Even China’s cheapest mini cars are over US$3000

Looking forward to a new age of transport:

On the day of the launch, Tata Group announced that the so called “People’s Car’s” advance sale price would be 10, 000 rupees, which is approx US$2000. This is very encouraging for India’s lower classes.

The Initial designs feature a 3.1 metre long body, a rear mounted engine with a capacity of 0.62 Lt.

“From today, the Nano is officially launched. As we had promised, the cars now in production are designed for three different levels of consumer requirements, from the higher end more expensive models to the cheaper, basic models”, said Tata’s director Ratan at yesterdays launch ceremony yesterday in Bombay.

Being an economical car, the standard “Nano Car” is without safety features such as airbags and anti-braking systems.

Tato Nano is here, but will it be a success or a dismal failer? The bold new venture, dubbed “world’s cheapest car“, has got everybody talking… and not just on the Indian sub-continent.

The Indian car industry is large scale, and Tata ranks number one out of the top ten car manufacturers in India.  This year alone achieving a massive 2 Billion US$ in sales.  Tata’s focus is on small 4wd vehicles, medium scale sedans and heavy vehicles.  Since the 1960’s, they have been exporting cars to various European, African and Asian countries.  Included in Tata’s arsenal is the highly popular ‘Indica’, which is a graceful, fashionable and low-cost vehicle.   With sales of over 110, 000 units in 2 months, it has become India’s fastest selling car.
